Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is the oldest law enforcement agency in the county, as it existed when Jefferson County, and all of Kentucky, was still part of Virginia. It came in existence as Jefferson County, Kentucky on the state Kentucky became a Commonwealth, on June 1, 1792.
